Britneys former assistant Alli Sims was served with legal papers to depose her in court regarding Spears parenting, Access Hollywood has learned.
Michael Sands, a publicist for Kevin Federlines attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan confirmed to Access that Sims, a wannabe pop singer, was served in the early hours of Sunday August 12.
Sims was served at a party. A source at the Hollywood Hills house party where the hand off occurred told Access, Sims attended the soiree with the “Baby One More Time” chanteuse.
The two women were followed to the house party by the paparazzi. After staying at the event for around 15 minutes, Alli and Britney stepped outside to leave. It was at that point, the party source told Access, Sims was given the papers.
It wasnt a big ordeal at all, the source said of the legal hand-off.
Life & Style were first to report that Aaron Cohen, who runs IMS-Security, served the papers.
IMS Security, according to its website is at the leading edge of Israeli style security services and anti-terrorist training, a posting explained. [IMS specializes] in building custom security protection and anti-terrorist training programs for public figures, private entities and government agencies looking for a higher level of expertise.
Access Hollywood has learned that ironically, Britney tried to hire Cohen last year to provide security for her. Cohen turned the job down.
According to Life & Style, Sims was said to be absolutely angry, at receiving the court papers at a party she was attending.
Sims is expected to be asked questions in court related to Britneys parenting. The magazine also reported she may be asked whether Spears drinks too much.
Earlier this week, Mark Vincent Kaplan, the attorney for Federline, filed papers in Los Angeles family court related to the custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James.
During their divorce, the couple agreed to shared custody, but at the time, a source in Federlines camp told Access Hollywood, the former back up dancer would be filing for more custody due to Spears recent behavior.
Reports surfaced Monday, suggesting Federlines custody proceedings were over money. Not so, a source close to K-Fed tells Access Hollywood.
He only wants a safe and secure environment for his kids, the source said.
In related news, the source also told Access that Sims isnt the only person who will be served as K-Fed heads to court over custody of his children. Approximately ten people are expected to be subpoenaed for Federlines case.
Access Hollywood has reached out for comment to reps for Spears, Sims and Federline. At press time, reps for the various parties had not responded.
