A$AP Rocky Reveals How His Mom Renee Always Wished He’d End Up With Rihanna

Mothers always know best – just ask A$AP Rocky! In a preview clip for the rapper’s appearance on The New York Times’ podcast “Popcast,” which drops Jan. 15, he revealed that his mom, Renee Black, always wanted him to end up with Rihanna. “My mother used to say s—t like, ‘I know you like this girl that you’re with right now,’ – I ain’t going to say no names -, ‘But I want you with Riri,’” he explained to cohosts Jon Caramanica and Joe Coscarelli, adding, “I used to be like, ‘Mom, why do you keep saying that? Yeah, like, ‘that girl don’t even want me like that. Like, be cool, Mom. Like that’s just my friend chill.’” Riri and A$AP were friends first before their relationship turned romantic. In 2020, reports confirmed the two were dating. Since then, they have welcomed three children together: RZA, 3, Riot, 2, and Rocki Irish, 4 months.
