Angela Bassett is mourning the loss of Tina Turner. The legendary singer died on Wednesday at the age of eighty three after a long illness in her Switzerland home, her rep confirmed to Access Hollywood. Angela, who famously portrayed Tina in the 1993 film “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” remembered the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll in a touching statement. It reads in part, “I am honored to have known Tina Turner. I am humbled to have helped show her to the world. So on today, while we mourn the loss of this iconic voice and presence, she gave us more than we could have ever asked. She gave us her whole self.”
