Austin Butler is opening up about one of the ways he was able to prove himself when getting the role of Elvis Presley. The 31-year-old actor revealed in a new interview with Variety that he did wear a bodysuit to portray an older, heavier Elvis, but when he was auditioning for the part, he did try to physically put on the weight. “I heard that Ryan Gosling, when he was going to do “The Lovely Bones,” had microwaved Häagen-Dazs and would drink it. So I started doing that,” he said.
