Awkwafina Praises ‘Shang-Chi’ For Representation: ‘More Stories Should Exist Like This’

At the red carpet premiere of “Shang-Chi,” Awkwafina chatted with Access Hollywood about starring in the Marvel flick alongside Simu Liu and revealed why he is the perfect fit for the superhero role. The comedian also praised the movie for its representation and noted that “Shang-Chi” will hopefully open the door for more stories like this to be told. Plus, Awkwafina talked about her recent girl’s night out with Priyanka Chopra, Sandra Oh, Michelle Yeoh and Sonoya Mizuno, sharing, “It was a very fun night with a couple of old friends.” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” hits theaters Sept. 3.
