Barry Keoghan Reveals He Once Nearly Lost His Arm To Rare Flesh-Eating Bacteria

Barry Keoghan went through a major health crisis a few years ago, nearly losing his arm in the process. In a new interview with GQ, the “Saltburn” star revealed that about two years ago, he caught necrotizing fasciitis, also known as flesh-eating disease. The infection was on his arm, and he shared, per the outlet, that amputation was a possibility. Barry told GQ that he remembered asking his doctors, “But I’m not gonna die right?” and said they replied, “Well, we don’t know.” Of course, the actor did make it through and went on to film “The Banshees of Inisheerin” right after.
