Dolly Parton Dead At 80: Reba McEntire, Kelly Clarkson, Oprah & More Remember The ‘Queen Of Country’
The world is reeling over the news that beloved American icon, Dolly Parton, has died at the age of 80. Her nephew, Brian Seaver, announced her passing in a video shared on Instagram on Aug. 25. Although Brian’s message didn’t provide details about Dolly’s death, her team later confirmed in a social media statement that the legend died peacefully in Nashville. Tributes soon poured in for the beloved “Queen of Country” including a special recognition from President Donald Trump, who ordered U.S. flags to be lowered to half-staff nationwide for a week. Throughout the day many celebrities, musicians, actors and even politicians remembered the incredible person and humanitarian who had a legendary career as a singer, songwriter, actress and author. Dolly’s death comes after it was revealed in September that she was postponing her set of Las Vegas concerts due to some “health challenges.” But she still maintained her fighting and positive spirit, telling People just four days before her passing that she still had “so many things I want to achieve.”
