Gabby Petito’s Mom Nichole Schmidt Slams Brian Laundrie’s Written Confession: ‘We Know How She Died’

Gabby Petito’s mother is slamming the version of events in Brian Laundrie’s notebook confession. In an exclusive interview with NBC News, which aired Thursday on “TODAY,” Nichole Schmidt expressed her disbelief in the letter her daughter’s killer wrote before he took his own life. In his notebook entry, which was released by an attorney for the Laundrie family in June and obtained by Access Hollywood, he alleged that she had been injured and claimed he believed killing Petito “was merciful.” Schmidt said, “Even in his last moments, he wanted to make sure he looked like the good guy, right? That’s ridiculous. We know how she died.”
