Glen Powell Reveals That Tom Cruise Had To Convince Him To Join ‘Top Gun: Maverick’

Glen Powell is “feeling very lucky” he said yes to joining “Top Gun: Maverick”! On the 2023 Golden Globe Awards red carpet, the actor told Access Hollywood’s Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover why he “almost didn’t” take the role and how Tom Cruise “convinced” him to take the part. “Tom basically said, ‘Don’t look at the size of the role.’ He said, ‘Make sure you’re in good movies, and figure out how to make your role great within that movie,'” Glen recalled. He also told Access how glad he was he signed on, saying, “I just can’t imagine missing out on this journey.”
