Halle Bailey’s Boyfriend DDG Faces Backlash For Seemingly Shading Her In New Song ‘Famous’

Halle Bailey’s boyfriend doesn’t seem to like being part of her world. In his new song “Famous,” DDG appears to rap about his relationship with “The Little Mermaid” star. “I don’t even ask for much, I ask you to do the basic sh– / Hardest thing I did was fall in love with a famous bitch,” he jabs. The rapper then hints at the 23-year-old’s new Disney blockbuster, which she stars in alongside Jonah Hauer-King, who plays the live action Prince Eric to her Ariel. “Filmin’ a movie now you kissing dudes / You know I love you a lot / I don’t give a fuck if that shit for promo / I don’t wanna see this shit no more,” he claims. Fans were quick to point out the similarities in DDG’s track, recalling an image of Halle and Jonah posing on the red carpet at the U.K. premiere of their film and linking hands. “I love me some Halle and I want to see so much for her, but DDG is making it increasingly hard to believe that he fits into that picture with these embarrassing antics. It’s ‘The Little Mermaid’.. you didn’t know she kisses the prince?” one twitter user wrote. On Sunday, DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., tweeted, “The hate just make me wanna go harder,” while the “Grown-ish” actress hasn’t publicly commented on the lyrics. Access Hollywood has reached out to reps for the pair for comment.
