Harry Styles Kisses ‘SNL’ Star Ben Marshall During Monologue After Addressing ‘Queerbaiting’ Claims
Live from New York, it’s Harry Styles! On March 14, the singer pulled double duty on “Saturday Night Live,” serving as both host and musical guest. During his monologue, Styles reflected on taking a break from music after finishing his Love On Tour in 2023 before poking fun at what people think his songs are about. He then brought up previous claims of queerbaiting. “Back then, people seemed to pay a lot of attention to the clothes I was wearing, and some people accused me of something called queerbaiting. But did it ever occur to you that maybe you don’t know everything about me, dad?” he joked. The 32-year-old went on to share what he has learned during his break, joking that he is “tremendously boring,” though he also noted that in addition to taking up running, he loves ecstasy. Styles then defended being boring saying that “as a British man” in the public eye it’s “better than the alternative,” as an image of former Prince Andrew flashed on screen following his arrest last month on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The actor ended his monologue by discussing how he came up with his latest album title, “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally” before sharing a kiss with ‘SNL’ cast member Ben Marshall onstage. “Now that’s queerbaiting,” Styles said as he winked at the camera.
