How Chet Hanks Got His Dad Tom Hanks To Star In ‘Forrest Gump’ Music Video

Access Hollywood spoke to the music making duo Something Out West which includes Chet Hanks and singer/songwriter Drew Arthur. The group which just released their debut EP “Leaving Hollywood” shared where their inspiration comes from for their new music. Chet also revealed how he got his father, Tom Hanks, to star in the music video for the group’s song, “You Better Run.” “I said, ‘Dad, will you be in my music video?’ and he said, ‘Yeah,’” Chet said. Adding, “He said, ‘Let me know when the dates are.’” Drew also shared the origin behind the idea and revealed that initially Chet wasn’t into the idea because he says he was called “Little Gump” his whole life. “Leaving Hollywood” is out now .
