Hudson Williams, Jack Hughes, Hilary Knight & More Join Connor Storrie For His ‘SNL’ Hosting Debut
Live from New York, it’s Connor Storrie! The “Heated Rivalry” star made his “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut on Feb. 28 with musical guest Mumford and Sons. During his monologue, the actor surprised the audience as both players from the Olympic gold-medal winning U.S. men’s and women’s hockey team joined him. In his remarks, Storrie discussed having to resemble a professional hockey player for his role as Ilya Rozanov when Jack and Quinn Hughes appeared onstage. After the Hughes brothers told the actor that they had not seen the show yet, Storrie quipped that he hoped some hockey stars had, leading Hilary Knight and Megan Keller to make a cameo – and receive a roar of applause. Knight and Keller then poked fun at the men’s hockey team and their viral phone call with Donald Trump in which the president joked that he “probably would be impeached” if he didn’t also invite the women’s team to the White House. “It was going to be just us, but we thought we’d invite the guys, too,” Knight quipped. Keller added, “Yeah, we thought we’d give them a little moment to shine.” The women additionally noted that their team had previously won gold as recently as two Olympics ago, while it took the men’s 46 years to clinch another victory. Plus, later in the episode, Storrie’s “Heated Rivalry” costar Hudson Williams made a surprise appearance in a skit. Williams also made another cameo alongside the 26-year-old to introduce Mumford and Sons.
