On Thursday, July 23, the actor made a surprise appearance dressed as Ebenezer Scrooge during San Diego Comic Con to promote his upcoming film “Ebenezer.” The Golden Globe winner looked unrecognizable in his makeup and costume, which featured Scrooge’s signature coat and a top hat. In video posted online, the actor appeared outside a shop called “Scrooge and Marley” where he teased his role as he interacted with the crowd. “Have you no jobs? It seems as though you have so much spare time,” he said, adding, “Why are you here?” Plus, later in the day, Depp, still in character, crashed Collider’s Directors on Directing panel before the release of the film’s trailer.
