Jada Pinkett Cries Over Tupac Shakur Memories & Reveals The Last Time They Ever Spoke
Jada Pinkett Smith is recalling the most emotional memories of her connection with Tupac Shakur. The actress reflected on Tupac’s lasting presence in her life on the Oct. 16 episode of Steven Bartlett’s “Diary of a CEO” podcast, explaining how even they were confused about why their intense bond was never romantic. Jada remembered meeting the hip-hop icon in their pre-fame days when they were both students and how they hit it off from the start. Despite their friendship staying platonic, Tupac later proposed to her with a letter during his time in prison. The “Worthy” author noted that they were in the midst of a rift when he was fatally shot in 1996 and she had been planning to visit him in the hospital when she found out he had passed away days later. Jada also broke down when seeing a rare photo of her and Tupac with her late friend Maxine, who had also died around the same time the hip-hop artist did.
