Jessica Simpson Says New Music Was Therapy Through Her ‘Deepest Heartbreak’ After Eric Johnson Split
Jessica Simpson is opening up about her upcoming new music and how it helped her through the end of her marriage to Eric Johnson. The singer says the project was therapeutic for her amid what she calls her “deepest heartbreak.” “Through the deepest heartbreak of my life, it was the most intense yet enlightening therapy I’ve ever been through,” she tells her sister Ashlee Simpson Ross in a new piece published by New York Magazine’s The Cut. She also reveals the project is unlike any of her previous music. “Making this record wasn’t about having a hit. It was just about having a vibe,” she explains.
