Jill Duggar Reveals She & Son Samuel Came Close To Death During Painful Childbirth

Jill Duggar Dillard nearly lost her life while giving birth to her second child. In her new memoir “Counting the Cost,” the former “Counting On” star got candid about her harrowing experience welcoming son Samuel in 2017 via emergency C-section. Jill writes that she had a uterine rupture and lost half of her total blood volume, but was able to get a transfusion. Samuel was taken to the NICU for nine days, and while a scan showed signs of bleeding on his brain, a neurologist later told the family there was no lasting damage.
