Jordan Chiles’ Bronze Medal Appeal Denied, USA Gymnastics Says
The Court of Arbitration of Sport will not be reconsidering their decision on Jordan Chiles’ bronze medal despite new evidence, according to USA Gymnastics. USA Gymnastics announced in a statement on Monday that they were told by CAS that their court does not permit reconsideration after an arbitral award is decided, and therefore would not reopen their case on the scoring at the women’s gymnastics floor final at the 2024 Paris Olympics involving Jordan. USA Gymnastics’ statement read in part, “We are deeply disappointed by the notification and will continue to pursue every possible avenue and appeal process, including to the Swiss Federal Tribunal, to ensure that the just scoring, placement, and medal award for Jordan.”
