Julie Powell ‘Julie & Julia’ Author Dead at 49

Julie Powell, famous food writer and author of “Julie and Julia,” has died at the age of 49. Her husband, Eric, told The New York Times that she passed away on October 26 and her cause of death was cardiac arrest. Julie was best known as the writer who started the blog the Julie/Julia Project in 2002, chronicling her journey in making every recipe in Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking.” She eventually inspired the 2009 film, “Julie and Julia” starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.
