Kevin Federline Talks Britney Spears & Why He ‘Felt The Need To Be Transparent’ In His Memoir

Kevin Federline is revealing why this was the perfect time to release his memoir. The 47-year-old told Access Daily’s Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover that there isn’t a specific misconception he is trying to clear up in the book but says he has “stayed silent for a long time” and through that people have gotten an idea of who he is. “By being silent it’s created all kinds of things that are being answered in this book,” he told Access. As for the hardest revelation to share, he says it was what his kids have gone through over the years. Kevin also explained why he “felt the need to be transparent” about his relationship with Britney Spears and when it “became apparent” to him that she hadn’t fully let go of her feelings for ex Justin Timberlake. He also told Mario and Kit that he worries about Britney and her well-being “every day.” “That’s part of this right, what type of father would I be if I wasn’t trying to help that situation,” he said. “I do care. I do want to see good things for everybody and hopefully that winds up happening. I want Britney to be around for our sons for a long, long time,” he added. Access Hollywood has reached out to Britney’s team for comment. A representative for Spears addressed Federline’s comments in a statement to NBC News on Oct. 15. “With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin,” the rep said. “All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James and their well-being during this sensationalism. She detailed her journey in her memoir.” Kevin’s memoir “You Thought You Knew” comes out Oct. 21.
