King Charles Changes Brother Prince Edwards Title To Duke Of Edinburgh On His 59th Birthday

King Charles III has given his brother a new royal title – Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh! The 74-year-old monarch announced the exciting change on Friday, which also happened to be his younger brother’s 59th birthday. King Charles conferred the title from their late father, Prince Philip. Prince Edward’s son, James, Viscount Severn, has now gained his father’s former title of the Earl of Wessex and his wife Sophie is now the Duchess of Edinburgh, which was the late Queen Elizabeth’s title.
