Koko Da Doll, Star Of Sundance Film Festival ‘Kokomo City’ Documentary Shot Dead at 35

“Kokomo City” documentary star KoKo Da Doll was found dead in Atlanta on Tuesday. She was 35 years old. The Atlanta Police Department reported that the rapper was found with a gunshot wound in Southwest Atlanta shortly before 11 pm and was then pronounced dead at the scene, with the APD sharing in a statement with Access Hollywood: “On 4/18/23 around 10:42 pm, officers responded to 2457 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW in reference to a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim with an apparent gunshot wound. She was not alert, conscious or breathing and pronounced deceased on scene by AFR. Homicide investigators responded to the scene and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation continues.” Koko, whose real name is Rasheeda Williams, was a prominent transgender woman featured in the award-winning documentary “Kokomo City,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
