Malia Obama Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance In France For Directorial Debut

Former President Barack Obama and wife Michelle’s eldest daughter Malia Obama made a rare red carpet appearance for a special occasion. The 26-year-old attended the 50th Deauville American Film Festival in France on Friday, Sept 6. Malia presented her short film and directorial debut “The Heart” at the festival. She was also honored with the festival’s Young Spirit award. The filmmaker admitted being a little nervous on the carpet telling publication Paris Match in a clip posted to TikTok, “I’m so excited. I mean, I’ve never done anything like this … so of course [I’m] a little bit terrified, but mostly just excited.”
