Mariah Carey Gushes As ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ Added To Library Of Congress Registry
Mariah Carey is living that sweet, sweet, fantasy, baby! The five-time Grammy winner was full of joy when she found out that her iconic holiday song, “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” was being inducted into the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry on Wednesday. “This is major and this is so gratifying to me as an artist, as a songwriter of course,” she gushed during a congratulatory video call with Library of Congress officials. The festive 1994 hit is among 25 iconic tracks that were honored this year. “I wasn’t sitting there writing lyrics like, ‘I’m going to be … in all these places and my songs are going to mean something to people every Christmas.’ I had no idea. I just wrote from my heart,” she gushed.
