Matthew McConaughey Reveals Why He & Camila Alves Made Teen Son Levi Wait To Get Social Media

Matthew McConaughey is opening up about a recent parenting decision. In a new interview with People, the 53-year-old actor revealed that in July he and his wife, Camila Alves McConaughey, finally allowed their son Levi to join social media on his 15th birthday and the Oscar winner shared his insight into why they had him wait. “We thought he was ready. After two to three years of talking about the pitfalls and the upfalls and the downfalls, and him shadowing me on my IGs and his mother on hers and picking out people that he looked up to and talking to them about it, we felt he’s got enough information and is mature enough to tell his own story,” the Oscar winner explained. While Matthew previously admitted that Camila was nervous about Levi joining Instagram, he expressed his confidence in the teen’s ability to navigate it. “He’s a very considerate and cool young man. I hope that the world out there can reciprocate and treat him the same as he treats them,” Matthew told the mag.
