Megan Thee Stallion Recounts Suffering Every Day From Tory Lanez Shooting At Rapper’s Sentencing

Megan Thee Stallion is opening up about the suffering she has faced since being shot in the feet three years ago. On Monday, a statement was read at the sentencing of Tory Lanez by Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta on behalf of the “Body” singer. “Since I was viciously shot by the defendant, I have not experienced a single day of peace. Slowly but surely, I’m healing and coming back, but I will never be the same,” it said in part according to AP. She reportedly, went on to reflect further. “He not only shot me, he made a mockery of my trauma. He tried to position himself as a victim and set out to destroy my character and my soul. He lied to anyone that would listen and paid bloggers to disseminate false information about the case on social media. He released music videos and songs to damage my character and continue his crusade,” she added. According to the outlet, Megan did not attend the court hearing because she “simply could not bring myself to be in a room with Tory again.” “Today, I beg this court to send a message to every victim of violence and fully hold the defendant accountable for his criminal conduct. This is a statement for all survivors that their lives matter and there is zero tolerance for the torture that accompanies violence,” she said per AP. In December 2022, a Los Angeles jury found the 31-year-old guilty of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of a concealed unregistered firearm and negligent discharge of a firearm following a 2020 incident that Megan said left bullet fragments in both of her feet and required surgery to remove, according to NBC News. “He is incredibly remorseful and ashamed and embarrassed that all of this happened. And I think, as an individual and those who were there that evening know what the truth is. But as far as his part is concerned, as far as his actions are concerned, he has been nothing but apologetic for that,” Jose Baez, the attorney for Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, said to the media outside of the Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday.
