Michael J. Fox Receives Ovation In Surprise Cameo At Actor Awards
Michael J. Fox made a surprise cameo at the 2026 Actor Awards. On Sunday, March 1st, the 64-year-old attended the ceremony, previously known as the SAG Awards, where he participated in the “I Am an Actor” opening tradition. Fox, who was diagnosed in 1991 with Parkinson’s disease, went last in the segment, right after Kate Hudson. As the camera panned to him, the audience erupted into cheers. The actor began to discuss his path to stardom and reminisced on how he met his wife, Tracy Pollan, on “Family Ties.” “After a few years of dumpster diving in LA, I ended up on “Family Ties” where I received the biggest gift of my career. I met my wife, the actor Tracy Pollan, who played Ellen my girlfriend. And she gave me four gifts – our kids Schuyler, Aquinnah, Esmé, and Sam. Sometimes I like to remind them if it weren’t for acting, they wouldn’t be here,” he said alongside his son before joking, “By the way he’s not an actor he’s just my date.” Fox then finished by saying, “I’m Michael J. Fox – I’m a dad and I’m an actor.”
