Prince Harry Teases ‘Competitive’ Wife Meghan Markle at Invictus Games Opening Ceremony

Prince Harry seems to have revealed a new side of Meghan Markle! The 38-year-old royal gave a speech at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany, and he gave his wife a funny shoutout while talking about the new countries, Colombia, Israel and Nigeria, that have joined the games. “Now, I’m not saying we play favorites in our home, but since my wife discovered she’s of Nigerian descent, it’s likely to get a little bit more competitive this year,” he teased. Meghan wasn’t at the opening ceremony to playfully quip back at her husband, but it was previously reported that the 42-year-old “Suits” alum will be delivering a closing speech during the farewell ceremony, according to German newspaper Rheinische post, per The Daily Mail. The Invictus Games holds a special place in Harry and Meghan’s hearts, as seen in their new Netflix docuseries “Heart of Invictus,” which highlights five athletes as they competed in the 2022 games.
