Priyanka Chopra Shares New Details About Daughter Malti’s Traumatic Birth: ‘I Just Shut Down’

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is opening up about an especially difficult time in her life. In a Feb. 25 appearance on the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast, the actress and model detailed the traumatic experience of her daughter’s birth for the first time. According to Priyanka, the difficulties began when she and husband Nick Jonas learned that Malti, whom they expected to welcome via surrogate in April 2022, would be born prematurely. The 42-year-old continued to explain the “intense” circumstances of Malti’s birth, noting that her daughter was born purple and so small that Priyanka did not know how medical staff would be able to intubate her.
