Robert De Niro’s 19-Year-Old Grandson’s Death Now Has A Suspect Arrested

A suspect has reportedly been arrested in the death of Robert De Niro’s grandson, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez. Law enforcement sources told NBC News 4 in New York that 20-year-old Sofia Haley Marks is facing federal drug distribution charges in relation to the death of the “Goodfellas” actor’s 19-year-old grandson. She is reportedly set to appear in court on Friday. The update comes just days after Robert and his family were seen coming together for a funeral service on Saturday, in photos obtained by Page Six, nearly one week after they shared the news of Leandro’s passing. The Oscar winner’s daughter Drena De Niro claims that her son died after buying fentanyl-laced pills. The mother of the late teen weighed in on the circumstances surrounding his death in an Instagram comment. When a commenter asked how Leo died, Drena alleged in her reply, “Someone sold him fentanyl-laced pills that they knew were laced yet still sold them to him so for all these people still f—ing around selling and buying this s—, my son is gone forever.” The New York City Police Department told NBC News that Leandro had been found unconscious on July 2 in Manhattan and was pronounced dead at the scene. A coroner’s report specifying Leandro’s official cause of death has not yet been released.
