Sarah Ferguson Dropped By Charities After Controversial Email To Jeffrey Epstein From 2011 Emerges

Sarah Ferguson has been dropped by several charities after an email she sent to Jeffrey Epstein in 2011 resurfaced over the weekend. The children’s hospice Julia’s House parted ways with the Duchess of York on Sept. 22 after an old email emerged in which she reportedly called Epstein her “supreme friend.” “Following the information shared this weekend on the Duchess of York’s correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, Julia’s House has taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue as a patron of the charity,” the organization said in a statement to NBC News. “We have advised the Duchess of York of this decision and thank her for her past support.” Although a spokesperson for the Duchess told the BBC they were not commenting on the charities’ decisions, they did release a statement to NBC News, stating, “As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly, to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with paedophilia.” The spokesperson also told NBC News that the email “was sent in the context of advice the Duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats.”
