Sheryl Lee Ralph, Niecy Nash, Terry Crews & More Stars Mourn Andre Braugher’s Shocking Death

Hollywood is mourning the loss of one of its own. Television and film star Andre Braugher unexpectedly died at the age of 61. The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actor passed away on Dec. 11 after a brief illness, his publicist confirmed to NBC News. Sheryl Lee Ralph reacted to the shocking news on Tuesday night, writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, “This really shook me! RIP Andre!” One of the first to mourn his friend and co-star’s loss was actor, Terry Crews. “Can’t believe you’re gone so soon. I’m honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared 8 glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent. This hurts,” he wrote on Instagram. “You left us too soon. You taught me so much. I will be forever grateful for the experience of knowing you. Thank you for your wisdom, your advice, your kindness and your friendship. Deepest condolences to your wife and family in this difficult time. You showed me what a life well lived looks like. Rest In Peace, Andre. I love you, man.” Braugher received 11 Emmy nominations over the course of his more than three decades in Hollywood and was a fan favorite as Captain Raymond Holt on the hit law enforcement show. Marc Evan Jackson, who played Braugher’s onscreen husband in the series shared a heartwarming photo of the pair together and captioned it “O Captain. My Captain.” according to IMDb, Andre is survived by his wife, Ami Brabson and three sons.
