‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Star Donyelle Jones Dies at 46 After Decade-Long Cancer Battle

The “So You Think You Can Dance” community is mourning one of its own. Season 2 finalist Donyelle Denise Wilson, known to fans of the show as Donyelle Jones, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, according to a post on her official Instagram page. “Today at 8:34 a.m., Donyelle Denise Wilson, transitioned,” read the announcement, which went on to acknowledge Donyelle’s hard-fought battle with breast cancer, calling the dancer a “warrior” and noting, “Her spirit never dimmed. Her heart never hardened. And even in the storm, she never lost her smile.” Donyelle’s death comes nearly 10 years after she was diagnosed with Stage 3C breast cancer in 2016, which later progressed to Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.
