Timbaland Apologizes For Saying Justin Timberlake Should ‘Muzzle’ Britney Spears Over Memoir

It might be too late to apologize for Timbaland. The music producer 51, apologized to Britney Spears and her fans during a TikTok live on Nov. 7, saying he regrets calling the singer “crazy” and how her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake should have “put a muzzle on that girl.” “I apologize to the Britney fans and her,” he said. Timbaland previously collaborated with Justin on his 2002 hit “Cry Me a River,” which is widely considered to be about Britney and their breakup. The apology follows backlash over a now-viral clip from an onstage event on Oct. 29 where an audience member asked him about the resurgent interest in the song amid Britney’s memoir. “She going crazy, right? I wanted to call and say, ‘JT, man, you gotta put a muzzle on that girl,'” Timbaland responded. Justin himself has yet to weigh in publicly on “The Woman In Me” or Timbaland’s remarks and a rep has not responded to Access Hollywood.
