Vin Diesel Shares Touching Introduction to Meadow Walker at ‘Fast & Furious’ Cannes Screening

Vin Diesel and his goddaughter Meadow Walker shared a touching moment during the “Fast & Furious” screening at the Cannes Film Festival, where the blockbuster was celebrating its 25th anniversary. On May 13, Diesel gave remarks to the audience inside the theater as he introduced fellow castmates Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez. He went on to reflect on the “brotherhood” that was introduced in the original film by himself and his late costar Paul Walker, praising how Meadow stepped in to honor her dad’s legacy at the film festival. “The person that was not going to let me come alone here to represent that brotherhood was Meadow Walker,” he said as applause broke out, before adding, “I’m going to go shed a tear real quick.” Ahead of the screening, Meadow also joined the movie’s cast and producer, Neal H. Moritz, for the photo call, where she and her godfather were captured sharing a sweet embrace. “The Fast and the Furious” premiered in June 2001, with Paul starring as Brian O’Conner. He made his final franchise appearance in “Furious 7,” which was released two years after he died in a 2013 car crash. He was just 40 years old.
