Wendy Williams’ Son Kevin Hunter Jr. Claims Mom’s Dementia Is ‘Alcohol-Induced’

The new Lifetime documentary “Where Is Wendy Williams?” premiered this past weekend despite a lawsuit brought by a court-appointed guardianship, which is battling Wendy’s family over her care. Wendy’s mental and physical issues have been revealed to be the effect of frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, but did alcohol play a role in her health crisis? “They basically said that because she was drinking so much, it was starting to affect her headspace and her brain … I think they said it was alcohol-induced dementia,” Kevin Hunter Jr., Wendy’s son, claimed in the documentary. But in a statement attributed to Wendy’s care team, which states she was diagnosed with aphasia in 2023, there’s no mention that it was related to alcohol, only saying that the progressive disorder has impacted her behavior and cognitive functions.
