Will Smith’s mom has broken her silence about her son slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. Carolyn Smith talked to 6ABC in Philadelphia and claimed she was stunned by the incident, saying, “He is a very even, people person. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen him go off. First time in his lifetime… I’ve never seen him do that.” Will’s family was shocked by the outburst, but believe the aggressive moment doesn’t define him. Carolyn is “proud of him for being him,” she added.
