Alanis Morissette Gets ‘Head Over Feet’ For ‘Weeds’

On the season four finale of “Weeds,” fans were shocked by the surprise pregnancy of Mary-Louise Parker’s character, Nancy Botwin, by the hunky but dangerous Tijuana mayor, Esteban, played by Demian Bichir.

For the fifth season of Showtime’s highest rated comedy series, Canadian chanteuse Alanis Morissette has signed on for a guest spot as clinical obstetrician, Dr. Audra Kitson, who treats Nancy during at least seven of the 13 episodes.

Sources have confirmed that the role may require Alanis to engage in “tasteful nudity,” through her pursuit of Justin Kirk’s character, Andy Botwin.

The new season will also follow the ups and downs of Esteban’s political career, as well as his relationship with Nancy. Loveable loser, Doug (Kevin Nealon), and rebellious teen, Silas (Hunter Parish), will open a new type of “club,” and Celia (Elizabeth Perkins) returns to Ren-Mar, bringing with her a powerful job opportunity.

Season five of “Weeds” will premiere on June 8 at 10 PM on Showtime.
