Britney Arrives To Court To Fight For Extended Visitation Rights

After missing the morning proceedings, Britney Spears has finally arrived to court.

An Acccess Hollywood source on the scene said Britney arrived around 1:30 PM, wearing a long black top, blue jeans, sunglasses, and was carrying a white Versace purse and drinking a Coke.

This afternoon’s hearing will be held behind closed doors.

Earlier today, attorneys for Britney filed a motion requesting extended visitation privileges for the pop star, including overnight stays with her two boys – Sean Preston and Jayden James.

The current custody ruling only allows Britney to have monitored visitation with her kids during the day.

One of the solutions offered by Britney’s camp was to allow her mother, Lynne, to act as the official monitor.

However, LA Superior County Court Commissioner Scott Gordon chose not to revise his ruling for the time being, instead granting attorneys time to discuss the issue further.

While neither Britney nor Kevin was present in court this morning, Britney’s attorney Anne Kiley requested the “emergency” hearing on behalf of her client.

“I do think it is an emergency for them not to have overnights with their mother, which they’ve always had,” Kiley said. “What possible concern can he (Federline) have if there are monitors present?”

Commissioner Gordon, who handed down the initial custody ruling favoring Federline on October 3, suggested both sides take time to discuss allowing Lynne to serve as monitor.

“If, in fact, there are family members who are present and trying to help, that might do some positive things,” Gordon said.

On Wednesday night, Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan released a statement related to the call for Wednesday’s hearing.

“The fact that a party, one week after a full court hearing, attempts to change the orders of the court, in the absence of an emergency or without any new facts, suggests a continued lack of respect and understanding for what an order of the court actually means.”

Earlier this week, Britney’s attorney Sorrell Trope told People the pop star had been passing her court-ordered drug tests, which will likely help Britney’s argument.

“She’s passed her random drug tests,” Trope told People. “There’s been more than one. They came up negative.”

Trope also told People the pop star has a “good” shot of regaining split custody of her two kids “based on the overall circumstances of the case.”
