Carrie Underwood ‘Scared’ For Second Album

LOS ANGELES (February 11, 2007) – She may have just picked up two Grammys, but Carrie Underwood has very little confidence when it comes to her next project.

When asked backstage at the event if things were getting easier for her following her wins, she said it wasn’t the case.

“I don’t think so. I think the scariest part is gonna come with album two,” she sighed. “I’ve had so much success [with my first record.].”

In fact Underwood said she won’t even be trying to outdo herself.

“I’m not gonna try to top the first one,” she said.

One place Underwood felt no pressure was at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party, Saturday night in Beverly Hills.

“It was great. I’m pretty sure everybody was there to have a good time,” she enthused. “I don’t think people were there scrutinizing people on stage. [It] took the pressure off to see people before me go up and perform.”

Underwood was buzzing high backstage, holding a Grammy in each hand as she addressed a room full of reporters. She had changed out of the green number she sported on stage for one of her performances during the show, slipping into a lacy black ensemble. In fact, Underwood went through a number of changes through out the day.

“The dress rehearsal [were] pretty early this morning so I’ve been getting ready since 10 AM,” she said.

Before she left, Underwood gave a major nod to “American Idol” who introduced her to the American public.

“There’s no doubt ‘American Idol’ is the reason that I’m here,” she said. “There’s no way I would have made it [without ‘Idol’]. I was in college [when I tried out.] I was almost ready to graduate. I would have gone into a job in the quote on quote real world.”
