Diem Brown Dies; MTV ‘Real World/Road Rules Challenge’ Star Star Was 32

After a long and brave battle with cancer, former reality TV star Diem Brown has died.

Diem was 32.

People was first to report the news of Diem’s death on Friday morning.

“MTV is tremendously sad to hear the news that Diem Brown has lost her long battle with cancer,” MTV said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Friday. “We send our deepest condolences to her family and friends. Diem was a true fighter and brought passion to everything she touched.

“We will miss her,” the statement concluded.

Diem, who had been featured on MTV’s “Real World/Road Rules Challenge,” was very open about her battle with cancer, beginning with her initial ovarian cancer diagnosis in 2003.

Following her initial diagnosis, the cancer returned in 2012.

“I know I will be fine,” she wrote at the time. “I beat Cancer once & I’m gonna do it again! I know God has a reason for every speed bump in life & I’m ready.”

In August 2014, Diem revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer for a third time – this time, in her colon.

“It’s been a dark couple of days, but the outpouring of support has been tremendous. It’s truly what will keep me fighting,” she told People at the time.

Earlier this week, Diem was hospitalized again, with friends and family gathering by her side as her condition worsened.

On November 11, she posted what would be one of her final Tweets, showing the unbreakable fighting spirit she demonstrated throughout her long and difficult battle.

“I NEED PRAyErs and advice my doctors are seemingly giving up but I won’t & can’t rollover. Whatever option I have to LIVE I’m grabbing!” she Tweeted.

Diem made her reality TV debut in MTV’s “Real World/Rod Rules Challenge” in 2006. She then went on to compete in six more seasons of the reality series.
