Kaley Cuoco On ‘Awesome’ Marriage, Sinus Surgery & Those Feminism Comments

Life is especially good for Kaley Cuoco right now.

The actress celebrated her one-year wedding anniversary on New Year’s Eve, just received a raise for her role on “Big Bang Theory” (as well as an additional three-season pickup), and is breathing easier after having a much-needed sinus surgery.

Access Hollywood’s Liz Hernandez sat down with Kaley at the junket for her new movie, “The Wedding Ringer,” where the blond beauty said newlywed life has been blissful so far.

“[Marriage] is awesome, amazing,” she told Liz. “I love being a wife, I love being married, I love my husband. I mean, we have a blast together.”

The actress admitted there was an adjustment period when she and husband Ryan Sweeting first tied the knot and moved in together.

“Marriage is very new for both of us and I love it ’cause I’m like, ‘OK, maybe he likes to put his plate the way that I don’t like to put my plate that way, and let’s compromise a little,'” she said.

“It’s the living together, ’cause I’ve never really lived with anyone,” she continued. “So it was OK. But I love being married. We’re so happy.”

Ryan took care of Kaley after her recent sinus surgery (which she quickly clarified was “not a nose job!”) and the actress said she’s feeling much better since the operation.

“I have not been able to breathe since I can remember, so I had to have this sinus surgery, and I had it only two weeks ago,” she said, adding that she couldn’t stand watching old episodes of “Big Bang Theory” due to her nasal voice. “Every time I watched it I knew I couldn’t breathe… But now my nose spray days are done. “

Kaley also addressed the recent backlash over comments she made regarding feminism in a Redbook interview.

“What most people I hope would understand that was a three-and-a-half hour conversation that someone saw two sentences [of] and then saw dot, dot, dot. So there was a lot more said,” she said. “If I offended anybody, I talk a lot, and I am sorry if I offended anybody. I love being a wife. I think I said [I love] serving my husband, I love to make him dinner, I love being that person and the whole feminist comment there was – again, so much more [was] said.”

The actress said her comment about not being a feminist because she already felt equal, was coming from a place of gratitude – not ignorance.

“I had felt that I had been so blessed in life today in my life and in my business that I felt like such an equal for so long and I haven’t felt like I’m trying to [move up]. I feel like I’m there. I feel like I’m powerful and that’s where it was coming from.”

So what does feminism mean to the 29-year-old?

“I mean, I think that it is equal, you know? But the funny thing is if I was a guy doing the cover of Redbook and I said all those things, I’d be known as Superman,” she said. “It really was completely blown out of proportion. And a lot of people took it completely the wrong way and again, I just don’t want to offend anybody. Sometimes I don’t realize how in-the-public I am… I don’t hide anything, I am completely who I am.”

Catch Kaley, Kevin Hart and Josh Gad in “The Wedding Ringer” – set to hit theaters on January 16.
