Kris Allen has revealed the gender of his soon-to-arrive baby.
The “American Idol” Season 8 champ and wife Katy — who tied the knot in 2008 — are expecting a boy.
“I am really excited. I’ve always wanted to be a dad. We just found out… it’s going to be a boy,” the singer told Hollywire at SXSW. “My wife already started buying him clothes like me. He’s already got some [fedoras].”
Kris, 27, announced his wife’s pregnancy back in January after the couple was involved in a car accident.
The singer-songwriter – who broke his wrist in the harrowing head-on collision just days before kicking off his “Out Alive” tour – said he’s gradually recovering.
“It’s getting better but it’s slow. Apparently I shattered it,” he said of his wrist. “I’m not quite playing [guitar] yet, but I’m getting there.
“It’s so frustrating, but it’s okay. I’ve actually started picking it up and messing around with it a little bit,” he added.
Katy is due in July.
