Orange Is The New Black: Major Character Promoted To Series Regular For Season 2

It appears a certain Litchfield inmate has had her “Orange is the New Black” stay extended.

Taryn Manning, who plays scrappy meth addict-turned-faux Christian disciple Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett, has been promoted to series regular for the Netflix original series’ second season, AccessHollywood.com has confirmed.

The news puts an end to speculation as to whether Tiffany’s character survived Season 1’s finale cliffhanger prison brawl.

When we last saw Tiffany, the rotten-toothed inmate was on the ground beneath Piper Chapman (series star Taylor Schilling), and on the receiving end of a flurry of blows to the head, after threatening Piper’s life with a sharpened, wooden cross.

Many fans were left wondering if Tiffany would live through the violent (yet arguably much-deserved) attack.

“Orange is the New Black,” created by Jenji Kohan (“Weeds”) and based on Piper Kerman’s real-life memoir of the same name, was renewed for a second season prior to its Season 1 premiere on Netflix on July 11.

Filming on Season 2 has yet to commence.
