Paul Blackthorne On Seeing A Lighter Side Of ‘Arrow’s’ Lance On ‘The Flash’

Cisco and Detective Joe West are heading to Starling City on “The Flash” on Tuesday night, and Paul Blackthorne’s Captain Lance is part of the action.

“What was different is that for Lance… he hasn’t had any sort of bonding with anybody really. I mean, slightly tenuous bonding with the Arrow [in the past], but really Hilton, his partner, was the last guy that he could really sit down and have a coffee with. And him and Joe West, you know, they’re middle-aged fathers with daughters, and they clearly [have] a lot in common,” Paul told Access Hollywood.

Expect a lighter moment for Lance as he finds someone to connect with.

“They’re cops and those two guys really hit it off,” Paul said.

On Tuesday’s “The Flash,” Carlos Valdes’ character, Cisco Ramon, will also encounter Katie Cassidy’s Laurel Lance/The Black Canary.

“I think the highlight for Cisco in Starling City is meeting the Black Canary ’cause it’s just like the Ray Palmer complex where I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m getting to meet not just my favorite celebrity, but I’m also getting to work with them and help them,’ and on top of that, Cisco gets to learn from his experiences — he gets to learn from his heroes,” Carlos previously told Access..

“The Flash” continues Tuesday at 8/7c on The CW.
