This never happened to Katie Couric.
Meredith Vieira dressed up as Bette Midler for her first Halloween with NBC’s “Today” show, but she somehow got stuck inside the clamshell she was brought out in.
Viewers saw guys from the crew with their backsides to the camera frantically try to pry open the clamshell. By the time they did, the Midler song Vieira was supposed to lip-synch to was over.
Matt Lauer dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow and Al Roker as Captain Barbossa from “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Ann Curry came out as Cher and Natalie Morales as Madonna (all pictured above).
“Live With Regis and Kelly” opened with Kelly Ripa as Regis and Regis as Kelly. Those were two of eight characters they’d end up changing into, including Regis as Howie Mandell and Kelly as one of the briefcase girls from “Deal or No Deal.”
At one point, Reege brought sexy back as Justin Timberlake while Kelly glammed it up as Christina Aguilera.
On “The View,” each co-host dressed as a different queen from history.
