Tyra Banks Returns To IMG Models – But Not The Runway

Tyra Banks has signed once again to IMG Models, the agency announced earlier this week.

“Supermodel, actress, and television host Tyra Banks rejoins IMG Models,” the agency first announced on Tuesday via its blog. “Welcome home Tyra!”

However, the new contract doesn’t signify a return to the catwalk for the “America’s Next Top Model” host.

“The last time I was with IMG, I was set on taking on the modeling world in the high fashion and commercial sectors,” Tyra said in a statement on Thursday. “Now I’m dreaming even bigger, but this time for my company as well. Aligning myself with brands that I believe in, and helping them achieve the kind of success they’re looking for, helps all of us as we grow our businesses.”

Ivan Bart, Senior Vice President and Managing Direct of IMG, added in a statement that the company “will help her expand her relationships with companies through endorsements, and… developing business relationships.”

The former supermodel retired from the runway to focus on her television projects in 2005 – and the busy star’s career hasn’t stopped expanding since.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, earlier this month, Tyra announced her first novel, “Modelland,” due in summer 2011, and plans for a three-book deal.

In December, she announced that her daytime talk show, “The Tyra Show” would conclude at the end of its current, fifth season. At the time, she also revealed the formation of Bankable Studios, a production company for film.

Last week, Tyra also crowned the latest “ANTM” winner — Krista White — on The CW show’s season finale.
