UPDATE: Britney’s First Husband Arrested
Britney Spears’ first husband, Jason Alexander, is behind bars Van Nuys, Calif., Access Hollywood has learned.
The LA County Sheriff’s Department had originally told Access that Alexander was arrested for an alleged DUI violation.
However, now authorities have told Access they “believe” Alexander has been arrested for allegedly missing two court ordered appointments at the LA county morgue.
Alexander’s court ordered time at the morgue, along with an alcohol education program, stems from a DUI arrest in 2006.
According to the LA County Sheriff’s Department, the 27-year-old was arrested on December 3. Alexander is scheduled for release on December 9.
Jason was married to Britney for only 55 hours following an impromptu Las Vegas wedding in 2005.
News of Alexander’s arrest comes during an extremely busy week for Britney, who is in the midst of promoting her new album, “Circus.” The pop star had a stunning performance on “Good Morning America” earlier this week, followed by a star-studded birthday party in New York City. She also taped an appearance for the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree-lighting ceremony, which aired on Wednesday night on NBC.
