‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ Returns With A Hollywood Makeover

The primetime game show that became a phenomenon a decade ago is returning to ABC for a two-week stint with original host Regis Philbin, a few game modifications and an extensive Hollywood guest list!

“Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” will return to primetime on August 9th in celebration of its 10th anniversary.

Executive Producer Michael Davies thinks the ratings will be strong, but won’t be able to top the original.

“I don’t think they can ever duplicate what we got the first time, because it was a brand new show and it was the talk of the country,” he told reporters on Friday. “We are just celebrating the 10th anniversary of this program, that’s what were focused on doing.”

Regis will once again step into the hosting seat to ask the million dollar questions, and this time some Hollywood stars will be sitting across from him.

Lauren Conrad, Snoop Dogg, Katy Perry, Patricia Heaton and Shaun Johnson are just a few of the stars that will appear on the revamped game show.

The Hollywood stars will be playing for a good cause and will have the chance to win money for their charities of choice.

“We have a celebrity for the end of the show, with one question… Get the correct answer and your charity wins $50,000,” Regis explained.

With a slew of celebrities making appearances on the show, which star would Regis like to see grace the stage?

“I think just because you never see him anywhere but on his own show, I’d love to have David Letterman come on the show,” he noted.
