Ana De Armas Is Confused By ‘Blonde’s’ NC-17 Rating: ‘I Didn’t Understand Why That Happened’

The Marilyn Monroe biopic “Blonde” is making its debut on Netflix at the end of the month, but the film’s star, Ana De Armas, has some questions about the movie’s NC-17 rating. “I didn’t understand why that happened,” she told L’Officiel of the movie being rated NC-17. “I can tell you a number of shows or movies that are way more explicit with a lot more sexual content than ‘Blonde.’” The film’s director, Andrew Dominik, also told Vulture in May that he was surprised by the film’s rating. “Blonde” is debuting at the Venice Film Festival and will stream on Netflix beginning Sept. 28.
